3 pounds Granny Smith apples, peeled and chopped
2 Tbls lemon juice
1/4 cup apple juice
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
3/4 cup flour
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup uncooked rolled oats
1/2 stick cold butter
1/2 cup chopped walnuts, optional

Directions:
Directions:
Peel and chop the apples and immediately toss them with the lemon juice. In a separate bowl combine brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg, and apple juice and stir into apples. Set aside. In another bowl, combine flour, granulated sugar, and rolled oats. Cut butter into mixture using a pastry blender until crumbly. Butter a 10 x 10 inch glass baking dish. Spread apples on bottom and sprinkle with flour mixture. Bake at 375 for 45 minutes or until browned. Serve warm with ice cream.
