c. butter, softened
1 c. brown sugar
c. molasses
1 egg
2 tsp. baking soda
tsp. salt
tsp. ground cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ground ginger
2 c. flour

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar together. Add molasses and then the egg and mix well. Add all other dry ingredients saving flour for last. Chill for 1 hour. Preheat oven to 350. Roll into balls, dip top in sugar and place on cookie sheet. Bake for 10 minutes. Makes about 3 to 4 dozen.
