¾ c. butter, softened 1 c. brown sugar ¼ c. molasses 1 egg 2 tsp. baking soda ¼ tsp. salt ½ tsp. ground cloves 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. ground ginger 2 ¼ c. flour
Cream butter and sugar together. Add molasses and then the egg and mix well. Add all other dry ingredients saving flour for last. Chill for 1 hour. Preheat oven to 350º. Roll into balls, dip top in sugar and place on cookie sheet. Bake for 10 minutes. Makes about 3 to 4 dozen.
