1 c. sugar
1 c. flour
tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
2/3 c. shortening
1 egg, slightly beaten
Fresh fruit of choice -- peaches, apples,or cherries

Directions:
Directions:
Put fruit in baking dish sweeten to taste set aside.
Sift together dry ingredients, cut in shortening and add beaten egg. Mix with fork until crumbly. Pour over fruit
Bake @375 for 35 minutes or until golden brown. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.
