1 3/4 cup all-purpose flour, sifted 1/3 tsp salt 3 tsp double acting baking powder 4-6 tbsp chilled butter or shortening 1 cup milk 1/3 cup cheddar cheese, grated 2 tbsp onion, finely chopped
Combine flour, salt and baking powder. Cut butter into dry ingredients then make a well in center. Add milk, cheese and onion. Stir about 1 minute until dough comes away from sides of bowl. Drop from spoon onto an ungreased baking sheet. Bake 12-15 minutes until lightly browned.
