1 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. soda
2 c. applesauce
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp.nutmeg
3 -4 c. flour
2 c. quick cooking oatmeal
1 pkg (11.5 oz) chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar, add eggs and mix well. Add applesauce, spices, salt, and soda. Add flour and oatmeal.
Drop by spoonful on greased cookie sheet and bake at 375 for 11 min.
