"I have long believed that good food, good eating is all about risk. Whether we're talking about unpasteurized Stilton, raw oysters or working for organized crime 'associates,' food, for me, has always been an adventure."--Anthony Bourdain
1 cup sugar 1/2 tbsp corn-starch 2/3 cup corn syrup 1 tbsp butter 1/2 cup water 1/2 tbsp salt
Mix sugar and corn-starch. Put in sauce pan and add corn syrup, butter and water. Stir until it starts to boil and boil to 106 degrees Fahrenheit or until it firms in a firm ball in cold water, add salt. Pour on greased slab or tray. When cool enough to handle, pull until light in color.
This is a recipe of my Grandma Hook that seems like a fun project for kids to do with their parents. I hope you enjoy!!
