4 medium pared and cubed potatoes
1/4 c. uncooked rice
1 lb. ground beef or left-over meat
2 c. diced carrots
1 c. diced celery
1 medium finely chopped onion
2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 1/2 qt. boiling water
bay leaf
some low salt soy sauce
rice or barley

Directions:
Directions:
In a large kettle combine potatoes, uncooked rice, 1 lb. uncooked ground beef, carrots, celery, onion, salt, pepper, and water. Cover tightly and simmer slowly for 1 hour. Remove bay leaf.
