1/4 c chopped parsley
1/4 c grated Parmesan cheese
1 clove garlic, crushed
2 tsp marjoram leaves
12 tsp pepper
2 loaves French or Italian bread

Directions:
Several hours before dinner, or the night before, make "garlic butter." In small bowl mix all ingredients except bread. Mix until blended. Cut each loaf length wise. Spread cut sides with garlic butter. Just before serving, place halves on cookie sheets, buttered side up and broil 4 in. from heat until bubbly and lightly toasted. Cut into slices and serve at once.
Can be made up to a week in advance and frozen until needed. Place strip of waxed paper over each half, place halves together and put in freezer bag or wrap securely in foil and place in freezer.
Just before serving, unwrap, remove waxed paper, then place on cookie sheets and cook as above
