2 c peeled diced potatoes
1 c chopped onion
1/2 c diced celery
2 1/2 c boiling water
2 tsp salt
2 T plus 2 t butter or margarine
2 T plus 2 t flour
1/4 t pepper
1/2 t powdered mustard
1 1/2 t steak sauce
2 c milk
1 t minced parsley
1 c stewed tomatoes
8 oz sharp cheddar, grated
Pinch of dillweed

Directions:
Directions:
Put potatoes, onion, celery, water, and 1 t salt into dutch oven or heavy kettle. Bring to a boil, cover and simmer for 15 minutes. In another saucepan, melt margarine and blend in flour. Add milk, remaining 1 t of salt, pepper, mustard and steak sauce. Cook, stirring constantly, until smooth and thickened. Add this mixture to the dutch oven, along with parsley. Simmer for several minutes. Stir in cheese and dill and serve.

I cut this recipe out of the newspaper in 1985! It is easy to make and delicious. Be sure not to boil after the cheese is added, or it will separate.
