1 C plus 2 Tbls. butter 10 level Tbl cocoa 4 eggs beaten 1 1/2 C sugar 2 C flour
FROSTING: 5 Tbl. cocoa 1/4 C plus 1 Tbl butter 1/3 C milk
Put butter and cocoa in pan over medium heat. Stir constantly until well blended. Add sugar to eggs, combine with cocoa mixture. Add flour and mix. Heat waffle iron brushing lightly with oil. Drop cookie mixture by tsp. onto iron. Bake 1 1/2 minutes (lid down). Remove and place on paper toweling or rack.
FROSTING: Combine above frosting ingredients in saucepan stirring constantly until well blended. Remove from heat and add 1 tsp. vanilla and 2 1/2 C powdered sugar. Stir and frost turtle cookies. Put a walnut on top of each cookie if desired.
