1 pkg. yellow cake mix
1 cup brown sugar ( or more )
6 tbsp. butter - melted
1 large can crushed pineapple drained well
Marachino cherries, drained well

Directions:
Directions:
Prepare 9x13 pan first. Spread melted butter in pan. Sprinkle brown sugar over butter. Sprinkle pineapple and cherries over sugar and butter. Make cake as directions state.Pour over prepared pan and bake at 350 degrees until done. Check times on cake box. Remove from oven and turn onto a tray or dish - larger than 9x13. Let sit a minute and remove pan. Scrape any topping left in pan and place on cake. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream,

This is David's favorite birthday cake. We make it every year on October 18th. I usually use the Duncan Hines yellow butter cake, which calls for 1 stick of butter.
