2 1/4 cups flour
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup mashed ripe bananas
1/4 cup buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour, baking powder, soda and salt. Cream shortening and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time and beat thoroughly after each addition. Stir in vanilla. Combine bananas and milk. Add dry ingredients and mix thoroughly. Pour into 2 greased round cake pans. Bake at 375 for 25 to 30 minutes. Frost with cream cheese frosting.
