4 eggs, well beaten
2 c. sugar
2 c. flour
2 t. baking powder
1/2 t. salt
1 c. milk
4 T. butter

10 T. brown sugar (1 c. + 2 T, packed)
6 T. butter
4 T. cream
1 c. nut meats or cocoanut

Cream well beaten egg with sugar; add flour, baking powder and salt; mix well. Set aside.
Heat 1 c. milk and 4 T. butter to boiling. Mix into ingredients above. Pour batter into 9x13" greased baking pan, and bake until done by lightly touching the top and it springs back, or inserting a toothpick in the center of the cake and it comes out clean. Watch closely!
TOPPING: Combine brown sugar, butter, and cream. Simmer on stove until well combined and and no longer sugary. Add nuts or cocoanut. Put on baked cake as soon as it comes from the oven and put under the broiler for a minute to make topping crisp. WATCH CLOSELY SO NOT TO BURN!!

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
I often divide the topping in half and put nuts on one half and cocoanut on the other half; both are delicious!
