1 lb. ground beef
1 small onion finely chopped
1 tbl. sugar
11/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. oregano
1/2 tsp. thyme
1/2 tsp. crushed red pepper
1/4 tsp. garlic
1 bay leaf
1 28 oz. can whole chopped tomato's w/juice
1 12 oz. can tomato paste
14 lasagna noodles cooked
2 eggs
1 15 oz. carton of Ricotta Cheese
24 oz. Mozzarella Cheese

Brown ground beef and onion in large pan. Drain fat. Add sugar, salt, oregano, thyme, red pepper, garlic salt, bay leaf, tomato's, and tomato paste. Heat to boiling. Reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer 30 mins. stirring occasionally. Discard bay leaf. Arrange 1/2 the noodles in lightly greased 9*13 in. pan. Combine eggs and ricotta cheese; spoon 1/2 of mixture over noodles. Cover with 1/3 mozzarella cheese; top with 1/2 the sauce. Repeat layers.
Bake uncovered for 35 minutes; remove and top with left over cheese; bake 10 more minutes.

This is a great recipe. I learned how to make it when my husband was in Japan. Lasagna is his favorite meal so I thought I should learn how to make it before we got married. He loves it!
