1 pound lasagna noodles, cooked per package instructions.
1 pound fresh ricotta cheese
1 pound ground round beef
1 box frozen chopped spinach, defrosted and well drained
8 oz. shredded or sliced mozzarella cheese
1/2 c. fresh grated parmesan cheese
1 medium onion, chopped
1/2 medium green pepper, chopped
2 cloves garlic, chopped
2 cans Montini crushed tomatoes
1/2 c. water or chicken broth
1/2 to 1 tbsp. basil
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. sugar
2 tbsp. fresh parsley

To make sauce: Brown ground beef in large skillet or saucepan. Pour off fat and add broth, tomatoes, onion, salt, sugar, basil and parsley. Mix and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes. Cover bottom of lasagna pan with 1/4 of the sauce and 1/3 of the rocotta cheese; add a layer of noodles.. Add 1/4 sauce mixture and 1/2 the chopped spinach plus 1/3 of the ricotta. Another layer of noodles, the rest of the spinach and ricotta, the parmesan cheese, and more noodles. Top with sauce and the mozzarella cheese. Bake, covered, at 375 degrees for 45 minutes. Uncover and bake 20 minutes more.
