1 c. long grain rice
2 c. chicken broth (may use instant rice cooked in broth)
1/2 tsp. salt
1 small to medium onion, peeled and chopped or sliced
1 can or jar (4 oz.) sliced button mushrooms (may use fresh)
1/3 box (2/3 c.) frozen or small can peas
2 to 3 tbsp. butter

Cook rice according to package directions. Saute onion in butter until limp. Then add mushrooms and cook until tender. Add peas and cook briefly. Mix ingredients with rice and serve.
