1/2 c. soft shortening
1 c. brown sugar, packed
1/2 c. white sugar
2 eggs
1 c. carnation milk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 3/4 c flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 c. walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Mix together shortening, sugars, eggs. Add milk, vanilla. Sift dry ingredients and stir in. Add nuts last. Chill 1 hour. Drop by spoonfulon baking sheet, bake at 350 , 8-10 minutes or until light brown.

Icing: 2 c. powdered sugar: 3/4 c. margarine: pinch of salt: vanilla to taste: little carnation milk to thicken
