1 square baking chocolate
2 c. sugar
1/4 c. butter
1/4 c. Crisco shortening
1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. peanut butter
3 c. quick oatmeal

Directions:
Directions:
Bring first five ingredients to boil for a minute. Remove from burner. Add vanilla and peanut butter. Blend well and add oatmeal. Blend well. Drop by teaspoon on wax paper and let sit.

This recipe reminds of when I was in school. Just about time we went to bed, Dale or I would remember that we had to take cookies to school the next day. So we went to bed and Mom (Minnie) would make up these cookies. They went over well; even, my teacher had to have the recipe. Years later, she said she still made them. And, I have made and given the recipe many times since. Gerene
