1 c quick oats
1 1/2 c boiling water
1 c brown sugar
1/2 c shortening
1 tsp soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
1 c white sugar
2 eggs
1 tspcinnamon
1 1/2 c flour
1/4 lb margarine
1 c coconut
1/4 c milk
1 c brown sugar
1 c nuts
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Add oats and boiling water and let stand 24 minutes. Add shortening and mix. Add in remainder of ingredients. Pour into 9x13 pan and bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes. Topping: Mix ingredients together and pour on top of cake. Place under broiler for 2 to 3 minutes.
