1 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter, barely melted
3 1/2 c plain flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
1/4 c buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda

Directions:
Directions:
Beat egg, add sugar and butter. Mix soda and buttermilk and add to mixture. Add vanilla and work in the flour. Roll out on lightly floured surface, cut, place on cookie sheet and bake until brown. 400 degrees.
