204 g (2 cups) rolled oats
12 oz. semisweet chocolate chips
½ lb. (2 sticks) butter, softened
110 g (½ cup) dark brown sugar, pack firm
½ cup (100 g) sugar
192 g (1½ cups) AP flour
½ tsp. baking soda
38 g (¼ cup) unsweetened cocoa
2 large eggs, slightly beaten
1 Tbsp. milk
1½ tsp. vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 350 ºF.

Butter 2 cookie sheets or line with parchment paper.

DO NOT alter the order in which ingredients are combined.

In a medium bowl combine the oats and chocolate chips. Set aside.

In a large bowl, beat together the butter and sugars until creamy.

In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda, salt and cocoa and then add to the butter mixture, stirring until thoroughly combined. The batter will be very stiff.

Stir in the milk and vanilla into the eggs, then stir this mixture into the batter until thoroughly combined.

Add the oats and chips, stir until well mixed.

Using a 2 Tbsp. scoop, drop batter 2" apart on prepared cookie sheet.

Bake 9-12 minutes, until cooked through.

Cool on pan 1 minute, transfer to wire cooling racks to cool completely.
