Pudding:
4 c. (8 slices) white bread, cubed
1/2 c. raisins
2 c. milk
1/4 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 t. vanilla
1/2 t. cinnamon

Sauce:
1/2 c. Butter
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c Heavy Whipping cream
1 t. vanilla*

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 350F. Combine bread and raisins in large bowl; set aside. Combine milk and 1/4 c. butter in 1-qt. saucepan. Cook over medium heat until butter is melted (4-7 min.). Pour milk mixture over bread mixture. Let stand 10 min. Stir in all remaining pudding ingredients. Pour into greased 1 1/2 qt. casserole Bake for 40-50 min. or until center is set.
Sauce:
Combine all sauce ingredients except vanilla in 1-qt. saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until mixture thickens and comes to a full boil (5-8 min.). Stir in vanilla. To serve, spoon warm pudding into individual dessert dishes; serve with sauce. Store refrigerated. (1 1/2 cups sauce)
*Substutute 1-2 T. brandy or rum for the vanilla in the sauce.

I was one to always say, I don't like Bread Pudding; "if I want bread; I'll eat bread, I don't want it in a pudding". When we went to the Wurstfest the first tme, they all coaxed us in to just trying it. Frank & I shared the first piece and Went for More. Then I found this recipe and it's been a winner at the K C's Fish Fry's in Nada. I seldom make just a single recipe. I usually quadruple it.
