3/4 c chopped dates
1/3 c water
1/4 c sugar
1/3 c shortening
1 c brown sugar
1 3/4 c flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 c chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Filling: cook dates, water and sugar over low heat. Cool and add chopped nuts. Dough: cream shortening, brown sugar, egg, flour, baking powder and salt. Roll dough to 1/4 inch thick. Spread date mix and roll. Refrigerate 1 hour. Slice and bake 10 minutes ain 350 degree oven.
