FRUITS AROUND THE WORLD

Ready to travel the world in search of the juiciest, most memorable fruits? Here are a few to add to your list!!!

[ ] Aguaje--native to Amazon rainforests, red skin & yellow flesh, coloration like a peach, but shaped and textured like a pinecone

[ ] Banana--native to India, Northern Australia, & Southeast Asia, grows in tropical regions, smaller than their cousins the plantain fruit

[ ] Cherimoya--native to South America, with a flavor combo a little like a banana, strawberry, and pineapple

[ ] Cherry--native to western Asia & eastern Europe; do not grow well in climates with extreme summers or winters

[ ] Cucamelon--native to Mexico & Central America, named because it is a hybrid of a cucumber and a melon, a bit sour

[ ] Feijoa--native to South America, nicknamed a "pineapple guava"

[ ] Kumquat--native to South Asia, looks like a small, oval orange; the peel is actually edible!!!!

[ ] Miracle Fruit--native to West Africa, with a unique ability to make sour fruits taste sweet when mixed with them; molecules within the miracle fruit change our perception of taste from sour to sweet!!!

[ ] Mangosteen--native to Indian Ocean islands, smells like caramel, butter, & grass

[ ] Pears--native to Southeastern Europe, pears can be a rainbow of colors including red, yellow, gold, green & brown (but they aren't really naturally purple, more of a dark red)

[ ] Rambutan--native to the tropical regions in Southeast Asia, named to mean "hair" because of its "hairy" appearance, sweet & sour taste

[ ] Snake Fruit--native to Indonesia & Sumatra, the fruit's peel looks like snake skin, crunchy & crumbly texture

[ ] Strawberry--believed to be native to North & South American, Europe, and Asia, grows well in many climates and terrains
