6 large sliced potatoes 1/2 lb. bacon 1 tablespoon chopped onion 2 tablespoons butter 3 tablespoons flour 2 cups milk 2 cups water 1 teaspoon salt
Fry onion and potatoes in the butter until light brown. Cut up bacon finely and add to onion and potatoes together with water and salt. Simmer 20 minutes. Mix flour to a paste with a little milk and combine all together. Simmer for 3 minutes. Serve with fried bread or garlic toasted bread.
