1 c. shortening
3/4 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. white sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. each: vanilla, soda, water, salt, cinnamon,
nutmeg, cloves
1-1/4 c. flour
2 c. Instant Oatmeal
1 lg. pkg. chocolate chips
1 8-oz. pkg. chopped nuts, if desired

Directions:

Cream shortening with sugars. Add eggs. Add other
ingredients one at a time and mix.
Bake at 350 10-12 min.
