Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
Grandma DuFrain made these cookies every year for Christmas. Grandpa would have a cup of coffee and two cookies every morning before starting chores. Grandma would store the cookies in a black canner with each layer separated by wax paper. The last couple of layers would be the softest and the best in the batch, per Grandma Lucy.
