Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 cup butter
1/2 cup vegetable shortening (I buy in the stick form)
3/4 cup sugar
1-3/4 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
3 large eggs at room temperature
1 tsp. vanilla
3-3/4 cup flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
12 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup milk chocolate chips
3 oz. bittersweet chocolate chunks
1 cup toffee

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Lightly spray cookie sheets or use a mat.

Cream together butter, shortening and sugars. Add eggs, one at a time. Add vanilla. Cream until well mixed.

Combine flour, baking soda and salt. Gradually beat into cream mixture. Be careful not to overmix. You should still see some flour when you add the chocolate. Give it one last mix to incorporate all the chocolate and flour.

Using a medium cookie scoop drop onto greased cookie sheet.

Cooking time will vary between 10-12 minutes.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
My most requested recipe ever! I first started making chocolate chip cookies for Grandpa when I was a teenager. As I got older I started adding different chocolates and this become the standard combination. I don't always use the toffee, but I think it's a good addition.

Remember the key is to mix the cream and sugar a lot and not to overmix once the flour is added. You can refrigerate the dough prior to baking so they get a better rise.
