2¼ c All-Purpose Flour
1 tsp Baking Soda
1 tsp Salt
1 c (2 sticks) Crisco Shortening Sticks OR Butter (softened)
¾ c Granulated Sugar
¾ c Packed Brown Sugar
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
2 large Eggs
2 c (12 oz) Nestle Toll House Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels
1 c Chopped Nuts (if omitting, add 1-2 tbsp of all-purpose flour)

Preheat Oven to 375º F


In a small bowl: Combine flour, baking soda and salt

In a large mixing bowl: Beat butter, granulates sugar, brow sugar and vanilla extract until creamy

Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition

Beat in flour mixture gradually

Stir in chocolate chips and nuts

Drop onto ungreased cookie sheets by rounded tbsp

Bake for 9-11 minutes or until golden brown

Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes, remove to wire racks to cool completely
