1¼ c. Whole Wheat pastry flour.
1 tsp. Baking Soda.
½ tsp. Ground Cinnamon.
½ tsp. Powdered Ginger
½ tsp. Ground Cloves.
6 tbsp. Butter, Softened.
1 Egg.
2 tbsp. Molasses.
1 tbsp. Vanilla Extract
½ c. Date Sugar
¼ c. Currants

Directions:
Directions:
Sift the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, and cloves together in a large bowl.
In a second large bowl, beat the butter, egg, molasses, vanilla, and date sugar together until thoroughly blended.
Add the currents, and stir in the flour mixture until all is thoroughly blended.

With floured hands form the dough into balls about 1-inch in diameter, and arrange them 1 inch apart on cookie sheets.

Bake 375° for about 12 minutes, or until the cookies are puffed and cracked on top. Cool on wire racks.
