2 cups Crisco butter shortening
2 cups sugar
1 cup dark brown sugar
4 eggs
4 tsp of vanilla extract

4 cups of flour
3 tsp of salt
4 tsp of baking soda

32 ounces of choc chips
3 cups of almond pieces

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening, sugars, eggs, and vanilla extract together with a blender until light and fluffy

Stir/sift together separately flour, salt, baking soda

Stir until creamed mixture blend with a blender until smooth

Add choc chips and nuts

Mix well, but DO NOT USE BLENDER FOR THIS STEP

Cover bowl with foil and refrigerate for 2-3 hours or overnight

Heat over to 400 degrees

Grease 2 or 3 baking pans with Crisco or baking spray

Remove dough from the frig and spoon tablespoon-size clumps onto pans evenly spaced apart

Bake for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown. Alternate trays in the oven for even cooking.

Remove from pans onto wax paper to cool...THEN ENJOY!

I originally stole this recipe from Better Homes and Garden cookbook and adapted to my personal tastes. I've made this recipe hundreds of times and certainly added to many pounds to many waistlines, etc. I have double this recipe as well for big parties, etc.

Watch baking times as everyone's oven is different. I like to make them extra crispy but you can cook less time for chewier cookies.

Getting dough chilled really helps!
