1 Cup Brown Sugar
1/2 Cup Shortening
1 Egg
2 Cups Flour
1/2 Teaspoon Salt
1/2 Teaspoon Soda
2 Teaspoons Baking Soda
1/2 Teaspoon Nutmeg
1 Teaspoon Cinnamon
1/2 Cup Apple Sauce
1/2 Cup Raisins
1/2 Cup Nuts
Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and brown sugar.
Add egg, and beat well.
Add apple, sauce and mix well.
Sift flour, soda, salt, baking powder.
Add to mixture and blend well.
Add raisins and nuts and mix well.
Bake on greased cookie sheets at 350º F for 8 to 12 minutes
Place by spoonful onto cookie sheet.
Place on cookie racks when removed from oven.
