Creamed mixture:
2 c. white sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. shortening (Grandma uses buttery Crisco)
2 c. pumpkin

Dry Ingredients:
5 c. flour
4 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt

Frosting:
1 8 oz. package Philadelphia Cream Cheese
1/2 stick butter
2 tsp. vanilla
1 lb. powdered sugar (about 4 cups)

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream sugar and shortening well then add eggs, vanilla and pumpkin. Sift dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture; mix thoroughly. Drop by teaspoon on to cookie sheet. Bake 13-15 minutes; place cookies on wire racks to cool. Frost when cool.
