4 lbs. potatoes
2 medium onions, coarsely chopped
3/4 cup sugar
Salt and pepper, to taste
1/2 lb. bacon, diced
3/4 cup very hot water
3/4 cup cider vinegar
4 hard-boiled eggs

Directions:
Directions:
Boil potatoes until tender; pare and slice while warm. Heap chopped onions in center. Top with sugar, salt and pepper. Fry bacon until crisp. Skim bacon from frying fat and set aside. Add water and vinegar to bacon grease and bring to a boil. Pour over potatoes and onions, toss lightly to mix well. Add bacon and garnish with eggs.
