1 lb ground beef
1 cup chopped onion
1 cup chopped celery
1 can (284 ml) beef broth (undiluted)
1 can (796 ml) diced tomatoes
4 cups water
2 carrots (diced)
2 potatoes (diced)
1/3 cup barley
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp paprika

Directions:
Directions:
Brown ground beef in a large soup pot or dutch oven.
Add celery and onion and saute over medium- low heat until soft.
Drain off any excess fat.
Add all the remaining ingredients, cover and simmer for 1 1/2 - 2 hours (until barley is tender.
