1 c. black walnuts
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. mapleine or 2 tbsp. brown sugar
4 small eggs
1½ c. dates, cut in pieces with scissors
3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda dissolved in about ½ c. hot water

Drop about a teaspoon in a place. Bake in a moderate oven.

Like fruit cake the flavor improves [undecipherable].
