1/2 cup (1 stick butter or margarine, softened)
1 cup sugar
2 large eggs
2 cups mashed bananas (about 4 medium)
2 cups unsifted all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 cup semisweet-chocolate pieces

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease one large loaf pan. In large bowl mix butter, sugar, and eggs. Mix in the mashed bananas. In another bowl, combine flour and baking soda. Gradually add flour mixture, then buttermilk, mix well. Stir in nuts and chocolate pieces. Spoon into prepared pan. Bake 1 hour or until cake tester inserted in center comes out clean.
