2 eggs
1/2 of 4 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. soft shortening

Directions:
Directions:
Measure into mixing bowl: 3/4 cup warm water (not hot - 110 to 115). Add, stirring to dissolve 2 packages active dry yeast.

Add rest as needed of flour; mix until smooth. Scrape dough from sides of bowl. Cover with damp cloth. Let rise until double (about 1 1/2 hours) Shape as crescents or butterhorns. Cover; let rise untile double (1 hour). Brush with butter and bake until golden brown, about 12 to 15 minutes at 400.

Before I disolve the yeast I warm the mixing bowl by running hot water over it. Dry the bowl completely then use to dissolve the yeast.
