Meat mixture: 2 1/2 lbs of ground beef
1 small onion chopped
1 crushed garlic clove

3 -15 oz cans of Chili beans
2 - 28 oz cans of diced tomatoes
1 large green pepper, chopped
5 whole cloves of garlic ( crush 2 cloves and leave 3 wholes in chili and remove when chili is ready to serve)
1 large onion chopped
3 Tbsp of chili powder
2 Tbsp of Cumin
1 tsp of salt
2 - 28 oz cans of water (add depending on how thick you like your chili)
2 - small cans of green chilies or 2 small jalapenos chopped.

Brown meat with onions and crushed garlic clove. Drain off grease. Then add meat mixture to large soup pot. Add all other ingredients. Bring to a boil and then turn down to low and cook for 1 hour.

The chili beans I use are the "hot" variety but you can use mild or kidney beans.
