2 c. heavy cream
2 c. half and half
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla (or more to taste)
1 c. sugar
1/8 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Mix together and put in your ice cream freezer container. Surround the cylinder with alternating layers of ice, table salt and two cups of water all the way to the top. I usually use one 26 oz. container of salt. Freeze, ice cream maker will come to a stop when ice cream is done.

This is for an electric freezer, not the fun kind mom and dad used and we took turns cranking the handle. Dad had to crank it at the end when the ice cream hardened. That's when we knew it was about time to pig out!
