1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1/2 cup shortening (I use butter)
1 cup sour cream
2 eggs
3 1/2 cups flour (I use 3 cups)
1 teaspoon soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cups nuts (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together butter and sugar. Add eggs and sour cream. Add dry ingredients. Bake at 385 degree oven for 10 - 12 minutes.

Frosting:
1/2 cube butter melted
Add 1 round tablespoon brown sugar and beat.
2 cups powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla (I use maple)
some canned milk or milk
