1 c. boiling water
1 c. oatmeal
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
c. oil
2 eggs
1 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
tsp. salt
tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla


1 c. coconut
c. nuts
c. brown sugar
6 T. melted butter
1 tsp. vanilla
c. cream

Combine oatmeal and boiling water. Mix and cool. (important to cool.) Add white and brown sugar, oil and eggs to oatmeal mixture. Then add flour, soda, salt, cinnamon and vanilla. Bake 45 minutes at 350.

Immediately frost.

Spread frosting on cake and set under broiler
enough to toast brown. Watch closely.
