3 lbs. beef pot roast
2 Tbls. flour
2 Tbls. Fat (shortening)
Salt & pepper
1/3 tsp. vinegar
1 onion sliced
2 Tbls. sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Dredge meat in flour & brown on all sides in heavy kettle. Sprinkle with salt & pepper, add onion, water, vinegar & sugar.

Cover & simmer 3-3 1/2 hrs. Remove and thicken sauce. Sometimes I put mushrooms on the meat right before it is done.
