Sugar Cookies Recipe

3 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 cup shortening
4 Tbls. milk
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all dry ingredients in a large bowl. Cur in shortening as you would for making pie crust until crumbly. Add remaining ingredients and knead until smooth.

Roll into balls and flatten slightly. Dip the balls in colored sugar.

Bake @ 375 on ungreased cookie sheet for 8-10 min.
