3-4 lbs. beef roast
1 envelope onion soup mix
4-5 med. potatoes cut into quarters
2 celery ribs cut into 1" pieces
12oz. bottle chili sauce
1 cup water
5 med. carrots cut into 1" pieces

Directions:
Directions:
Place roast in ungreased roasting pan. Combine chili sauce, water & onion soup mix & pour over the meat.

Cover & bake @ 350 for 2 hrs.

Cut roast into 1/2" slices and return to pan. Add the potatoes, carrots & celery.

Cover & bake for another hr. or until vegetables are tender, stirring once about half way through.

Although this recipe is a bit different, pot roast was a staple Sunday dinner at our house during the 40's and early 50's. It is still one of my favorite meals. Also I like to add several quartered onions to the pot.
