1 pkg. 12 oz. pork or turkey sausage
1-3/4 cup croûtons
1 pkg. 4 oz. shredded cheddar cheese
1-1/4 cup milk
2 eggs beaten
1/3 cup chopped green pepper
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1/4 cup milk

Brown and crumble sausage - drain. Spread croûtons in 8x10 baking dish. Top with sausage, cheese & green pepper.

Combine milk (1-1/4 cup) & eggs & pour over sausage. Cover & refrigerate overnight.

To serve:
Blend soup and remaining milk together & spread over casserole.

Bake @ 300 for 45 min.

Sprinkle with additional croûtons and continue baking for 20-30 min.

Let stand 5-10 min before serving.

This has been a favorite of ours for many years. I use it a lot when we are having guests at the lake or at home. It's nice to have prepared ahead of time. I acquired it many years ago from supermarket flyer and we've enjoyed it since.
