1 1/2 cups boiling water
1 cup oatmeal
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
1/2 cup shortening
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 tbsp cocoa
1 cup chocolate chips

Pour boiling water over oatmeal. Mix well and let stand for 10 minutes. Add sugars, shortening and eggs and mix well. Add flour, baking soda, salt, and cocoa. Stir in 1/2 cup of chocolate chips. Pour into greased and floured 9x13 inch pan. Sprinkle 1/2 cup chocolate chips over the top. Bake at 350 for 40 minutes.
