Mom's Christmas Cookies Recipe

1 cup Crisco
1 cup margarine or butter
1 cup sugar
2 beaten eggs
4 tsp. vanilla
6 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt

FROSTING
Confectionary sugar
water
food coloring
sugars

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together Crisco, margarine or butter, and sugar. Beat it until it's smooth.

Add eggs and vanilla. Mix thoroughly.

Add flour, baking powder and salt. Stir in gradually.

Make a ball. Push it down on floured board. Cut in half or thirds.

Roll it so it is 1/2 - 1/4 inch thick.

Cut with cookie cutters and put on ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes.

Combine Confectionary sugar and water to make frosting. Add food coloring and sugars when frosting is wet.

This is my mom's recipe. They always turned out great for her. I always had trouble with it. Maybe they will turn out better this year!
