1 cup shortening
1 tsp salt
½ tsp cinnamon
½ tsp cloves
1½ cups brown sugar
2 eggs
1½ cups oatmeal
1 cup nuts, chopped
1 cup raisins
¾ tsp baking soda
¼ cup milk
2 cups flour

Directions:
Cream shortening, sugar, eggs and milk. Stir in dry ingredients and oats and nuts. Mix well. Drop by spoonfuls on greased cookie sheet and bake at 325º for 8-10 minutes.
