Oatmeal Nougat Cookies Recipe

Cream:
1 c shortening
3/4 c brown sugar
3/4 c white sugar

Add 2 eggs, slightly beaten

Add 1 T hot water, beat.
Add 1-1/2 c flour, mixed with 1 t baking soda.

Mix well.
Fold in 2 cups quick rolled oats

Add 16 oz chocolate chips, optional

Drop on ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake 375 for 12-15 minutes.
